David Farren

David began exhibiting professionally in 1999, but despite having a relatively young career his work in acrylic shows amazing maturity. Inspired by the dramatic surroundings of the Lake District near his home in Lancaster, his sensitive treatments of the Cumbrian landscapes are Impressionistic in their delivery.

"My paintings are concerned with effects of changing light and colour. Using acrylic brings a certain
strength to my work and offers a versatility allowing me to capture the sense of movement and change
of light within the scene."

David's portfolio subjects range from the classic to the modern and a recent trip to New York yielded a series of inner city-scapes. David is currently working in California, adding San Francisco and the Monterey Bay Peninsula to his range. His work can be found in solo exhibitions in galleries across the United Kingdom and in private collections in Europe and America.
