Edward Hersey

Born in 1948 in Croydon, Surrey and later educated at Archbishop Tenisons Grammar School, Croydon, Edward first had an interest in art at the tender age of 13.  His formative years were spent, however, in the retail jewellery trade, rising to a senior management position.

He has always had a love of music and art and is quite versatile, being able to play several instruments.  During his working life he has always sketched and painted and, with much encouragement from family and friends, has recently turned professional.

Any observer can clearly see that this man, who has only been painting professionally for a matter of months, has the natural talent which many successful artists take a lifetime to acquire.  His meticulous attitude to detail, and particularly mood and lighting, can only be described as a natural gift.  His favourite subjects are of rural and farmyard life, drawn naturally from his love of the countryside.
