Erik Gleave

Erik W Gleave was born in Liverpool in 1916 and died in 1995.  He studied at the Liverpool College of Art and then became Head of Art at the William Deacon Grammar School, Widnes, where he taught from 1946-74.

In 1974 Erik took early retirement in order to spend more of his time painting, thus his second, most shining, career was launched.

His work has been exhibited at Royal exhibitions in London and Birmingham.

He was commissioned in 1984 by the Metropolitan Borough Council of Sefton, to paint a work for the Royal Navy.  This painting now graces HMS Starling.

Erik's work has been bought by patrons throughout the world.
