Mike Stevens
Born in 1941 in Augsburg, Bavaria where she still lives and works today.
Mike Steven’s talent for painting was already obvious in her early years. She never aspired to a career as an artist. Instead, in the years after the war, she worked as a buyer for a publishing house and painted in her spare time. In 1964 at workshops in Mexico/USA she discovered her great creative potential and her fascination for colour. Back in Germany she took art instruction from Professor Robert Loehner and developed, through experimentation with materials and techniques, her own strong expressive style.
Her first exhibitions were in Augsburg and Munich in 1970. This led her to be able to go full time as a freelance artist in 1974; exhibiting throughout different galleries in Germany and Europe.
Her sure eye for compositions, the inspired approach to light and colour and great skill and ability identifies her pictures and establishes her success.
