Peter Cosslett

Peter Cosslett is a realist painter whose work contains no gimmicks but takes many hours to complete.

Peter spent his early adult years in the merchant marines and became fascinated by the power and drama of the sea.  After the war he worked as a salesman but found difficulty in coping after his left leg was amputated through cancer.  As a challenge he took up painting, he is entirely self-taught and puts his success down to sheer persistence.

After an unsuccessful venture running an art shop Peter left his native city of Cardiff and moved to Devon.  He now spends all his time painting to meet the constant demand for his work.

There have been several fine art prints of Cosslett seascapes and although coastal scenes are his favourite subject he has completed many landscapes and other subjects.
