Raymond Campbell

Raymond Campbell was born in Surrey, England in 1956, and was convinced even as a schoolboy that he could make his living as an artist.

After travelling and studying throughout Europe in the late 1970's, and having tried his hand in numerous different jobs, Ray returned to England to begin life as a professional artist. He turned down the chance of formal training at Art School in favour of developing his own style and was a full-time professional artist by the age of 22.

Raymond Campbell was highly influenced by the Great Dutch Masters who inspired him to paint his still life in the Flemish tradition. This, coupled with his enthusiasm for collecting old and interesting objects together with his love of all the good things in life, has resulted in him becoming one of the finest still life painters in the UK.

Raymond Campbell's individual style is widely recognised and admired. He has exhibited throughout the U.K. and the U.S.A. and has been successful at the Summer Exhibitions at the Royal Academy London.
