Ugo de Cesare
Ugo de Cesare was born in 1950 in a small village near
Florence. He studied at the Academy of Naples and Florence, and originally
wanted to become an art teacher. To get his degree, he had to create an oil
painting, which created such a sensation that he was awarded his degree with
distinction.
After teaching for a short time, he devoted himself to
painting. He became a full-time artist and very soon his distinctive,
personal style developed, which lead to his success.
De Cesare uses techniques that are difficult for most
painters, and pulls from the works and incorporates the methods of the Old
Italian masters to create his stunning figurative work.
De Cesare has traveled around the world exhibiting his artwork. He has won
numerous prizes in Naples and throughout Europe. He has been invited to
participate in many traveling art exhibits and his work is held in public
galleries and private collections in Italy and beyond.
